• Congrats to Dave Peterson on enduring a cold nite on the roof to help raise money for the Big Brothers/ Big Sisters program in our county…hopefully you are thawed out by now…great job, Dave
• Thanks again to Marv and Mary Ann for coordinating the recent Blood Drive and to all the the Kiwanis Members who helped by bringing cookies/bars etc for the snacks…almost 70 donors participated in giving the gift of life.
• Kiwanis donated $400 to help provide entertainment for the Blue Ribbon Kids day on April 10
• Donated $250 to the Wautoma Post Prom activities
• Approved a request from Neil Olson to donate $500 to the New Wautoma Sign program….5 new signs to be erected on road leading into Wautoma to replace existing signs.
• Donated $100 to the Kiwanis International Foundation
• Approved continuing our Wautoma High School Scholar ships….2 - $1000 scholarships ($500 per year) to a two year tech school or equivalent school.
• Donated $150 to the Bookworms program
• Donated $200 to Habitat for Humanity
• Voted to approve support of $300 now and more if necessary to support the Kiwanis Yell & Tell program to be run in the local school district (grade 3 ?)
• Mary Ann Nielsen suggested we may want to look into a library park beautification program and she will report back on what we might be able to do on “Kiwanis One Day” local project.
• As you can see we had a busy month on helping to financially support many opportunities in our community and as such we will need to get back on the fundraising bandwagon….fortunately we have an upcoming Girls Volleyball Tourney on March 27/28. The tourney will run from 8am to 5pm on both days and workers will be needed to help with concessions and setup/cleanup. In addition we will need Veggies, brownies, cookies, etc…that we can sell at the concession stand. Please sign up to help at anupcoming meeting or give Dick Kalata a call at 787-3166 to sign up for lending a hand.
• We want to wish Anne Timmel a speedy recovery from her recent knee surgery and look forward to her return to good health and to Wisconsin.
